Medixtra's primary operations hub is Houston, Texas. We serve all of Texas statewide including Houston, Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, Fort Worth, El Paso, Corpus Christi, Beaumont, McAllen, Lubbock, Midland/Odessa, Tyler, Waco, and all points in between. We currently serve Texas only and do not yet operate in other states.

What is a STAT delivery and how fast is it?

STAT deliveries are time-critical, emergency pickups dispatched immediately with highest priority. Estimated pickup time in Houston: approximately 1–2 hours. For STAT dispatch call 832-819-0252 directly.

Do you offer same-day medical courier service in Houston?

Yes. Medixtra offers same-day medical courier service throughout Texas for laboratories, clinics, pharmacies, hospitals, and any healthcare facility requiring same-day pickup and delivery.

Can Medixtra handle scheduled recurring route pickups?

Yes. We offer customized scheduled recurring routes for healthcare facilities requiring consistent daily or weekly pickups — ideal for labs, dialysis centers, imaging centers, and multi-location healthcare systems.

Do you transport medical equipment?

Yes. We transport medical devices and equipment between healthcare facilities including diagnostic equipment, portable medical devices, surgical instruments, and hospital supplies.

Do you handle medical records and legal document transport?

Yes. Medixtra provides confidential medical records courier service for hospitals, clinics, and law firms handling medical-legal cases, with HIPAA-compliant protocols and chain-of-custody documentation.

Compliance & Certifications

Is Medixtra HIPAA compliant?

Yes. Medixtra is fully HIPAA-compliant. HIPAA Compliance Training Certificate ID: HIPAA-0029417, issued January 24, 2026. Certificates available upon request.

Does Medixtra sign Business Associate Agreements (BAA)?

Yes. Medixtra is prepared to execute BAAs with healthcare facility clients as required under HIPAA for Business Associates handling Protected Health Information. Contact contact@medi-xtra.com to request a BAA.

Is Medixtra OSHA certified?

Yes. Medixtra holds OSHA for Healthcare with Bloodborne Pathogens certification (issued January 25, 2026), covering occupational exposure, bloodborne pathogens, PPE, biohazard labeling, and hazardous waste operations per 29 CFR 1910.1030.

What is TWIC certification and does Medixtra have it?

TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) is a federal TSA credential required for access to secure areas of ports, federal facilities, and airports. Medixtra is TWIC certified — uniquely qualifying us to service hospital facilities at Houston's IAH and Hobby airports.

Is Medixtra insured?

Yes. Medixtra is fully insured for medical courier operations.

Do you provide chain-of-custody documentation?

Yes. Chain-of-custody documentation is available for all deliveries, providing a full auditable record from pickup to delivery.

How does Medixtra protect patient privacy during transport?

Through HIPAA-trained couriers, sealed tamper-evident packaging, chain-of-custody documentation, authorized recipient verification on delivery, and confidentiality agreements signed by all personnel.

Specimen & Sample Transport

Do you transport laboratory specimens and blood samples?

Yes. We handle blood samples, urine specimens, tissue biopsies, wound cultures, and other biological materials with full chain-of-custody and appropriate temperature controls.

Do you offer temperature-controlled transport and cold chain management?

Yes. We maintain ambient (15–25°C), refrigerated (2–8°C), or frozen temperatures as required, with validated containers and temperature monitoring documentation.

Can you handle biohazard and infectious specimens?

Yes. Medixtra is OSHA-trained for biohazardous and infectious specimens under UN3373 Category B requirements. Couriers use appropriate PPE and follow bloodborne pathogen standards.

Do you transport organ and blood bank specimens?

Yes. Blood bank materials, organ specimens, and tissue samples receive highest-priority handling with temperature control, direct routing, and immediate chain-of-custody. Call 832-819-0252 directly for these arrangements.

Operations & Technology

What is your average pickup response time in Houston?

Approximately 1–2 hours from request confirmation in the Houston area. STAT requests are prioritized for immediate dispatch. Scheduled pickups occur at the pre-agreed time window.

Do you offer real-time GPS tracking?

Yes. Real-time GPS tracking is powered by OneTime360. Tracking updates and delivery confirmation can be shared with your facility upon request.

Can I set up a recurring account or service contract with Medixtra?

Yes. We welcome facility accounts and recurring service agreements for labs, hospitals, clinics, and healthcare networks. Contact sales@medi-xtra.com to discuss account setup.

Do you require a minimum number of deliveries per month?

No. Medixtra serves both high-volume recurring clients and facilities needing occasional STAT or on-demand courier services with no minimums required.

Do you subcontract deliveries to third-party drivers?

No. Medixtra maintains direct operational control over all deliveries. All personnel are HIPAA and OSHA trained with signed confidentiality agreements.
